Video Stream Configurations

Video streams have additional configurations to fit the needs of your environment. After adding a video stream, use these configurations to create a custom and functional experience.

PropertyDescription
DisplayThe connected displays on the configured VADAAR Sender machine.
MTU SizeThe maximum transmission unit (MTU) is the size of the largest RTP frame. The default size is 1400. Can be helpful to reduce the size if using a VPN. Consider values between 1200-1400.
Force Software EncodingWhen disabled will attempt to use dedicated hardware (if available) to perform encoding. Enable to use CPU-based encoding regardless of hardware.
Bitrate (kbps)The target number of kilobits per second that should be transmitted. A higher bitrate will result in better image quality while consuming more network bandwidth, and potentially degraded performance.
Scale (%)The scale percentage of the stream resolution. Useful for downscaling desktop captures to reduce the computational and network resource cost of encoding and transmitting a stream.
Framerate (FPS)A measure of frame rate expressed as the number of frames displayed, captured, or processed in a second.
CropCrop a stream's display to capture a specific region. See Cropping Streams.
tip

Don't forget to select 'Save' when you are finished configuring your streams.

    note

If a stream is offline, the rearrange and preview portion of the window will not be available.

  9. Select Save.

Result: The selected region is saved to the stream's configuration and will display, as configured, in recording sessions and live streaming.
