Configuring Users

VADAAR provides options for managing users. As an administrator, you can:

  • Add, edit, and delete Users
  • Block and unblock Users
  • Configure user roles
  • Manage user passwords

Adding Users

To add users to VADAAR:

Prerequisite

You must log in with an Administrator account to add users.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users.

  2. In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Add User.

  3. In the Add User dialog, fill in the following information:

    SettingDescription
    Given NameEnter the user's given name.
    Family NameEnter the user's family name.
    EmailEnter the user's email address.
    UsernameEnter a username for the user.
    System RoleSelect a system role from the drop down menu. See System Roles.
    PasswordEnter a password for the user's account.
    Confirm PasswordConfirm the user's password.
  4. Select Add.

Result: The new user is added to VADAAR and displays at the bottom of the User List.

Editing Users

To edit users:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  2. (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
  3. In the User List, select a user to edit.
  4. In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Edit.
    • Alternatively, double-click the user.
  5. On the User's page, edit their information as needed.
  6. Select Save.

Result: The user's information updates as configured.

Resetting User Passwords

To reset a user password:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  2. In the User List, select a user.
  3. In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Change Password.
  4. In the Change Password dialog, enter the new password for the user.
  5. Select Change Password.

Result: The user's new password saves and a small green banner at the bottom right of the page displays with a success message.

Blocking Users

VADAAR provides the option to block users from logging in.

To block a user :

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  2. (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
  3. In the User List, select a user.
  4. In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Block.

Result: The user is blocked from logging in to the system and the user's icon displays with a red slash on the Users page.

Unblocking Users

VADAAR provides the option to reinstate a User's access to the VADAAR system.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  2. (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
  3. In the User List, select a user.
  4. In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Unblock.

Result: The user regains access to the VADAAR system.
