Configuring Users
VADAAR provides options for managing users. As an administrator, you can:
- Add, edit, and delete Users
- Block and unblock Users
- Configure user roles
- Manage user passwords
Adding Users
To add users to VADAAR:
You must log in with an Administrator account to add users.
Navigate to Settings > Users.
In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Add User.
In the Add User dialog, fill in the following information:
Setting Description Given Name Enter the user's given name. Family Name Enter the user's family name. Email Enter the user's email address. Username Enter a username for the user. System Role Select a system role from the drop down menu. See System Roles. Password Enter a password for the user's account. Confirm Password Confirm the user's password. Select Add.
Result: The new user is added to VADAAR and displays at the bottom of the User List.
Editing Users
To edit users:
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
- In the User List, select a user to edit.
- In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Edit.
- Alternatively, double-click the user.
- On the User's page, edit their information as needed.
- Select Save.
Result: The user's information updates as configured.
Resetting User Passwords
To reset a user password:
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- In the User List, select a user.
- In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Change Password.
- In the Change Password dialog, enter the new password for the user.
- Select Change Password.
Result: The user's new password saves and a small green banner at the bottom right of the page displays with a success message.
Blocking Users
VADAAR provides the option to block users from logging in.
To block a user :
- Main Users Page
- Individual User Page
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
- In the User List, select a user.
- In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Block.
Result: The user is blocked from logging in to the system and the user's icon displays with a red slash on the Users page.
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
- In the User List, select a user.
- In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Edit.
- Alternatively, double-click the user.
- On the user's General page, select Block User.
Result:The user is now blocked from logging in to the system. The user's icon displays with a red slash on the Users page.
Unblocking Users
VADAAR provides the option to reinstate a User's access to the VADAAR system.
- Main Users Page
- Individual User Page
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
- In the User List, select a user.
- In the toolbar at the top of the page, select Unblock.
Result: The user regains access to the VADAAR system.
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- (Optional) In the Search bar, type in the name of a user.
- In the User List, double-click the user.
- On the user's General page, select Unblock User.
Result: The user regains access to the VADAAR system.
