Debrief Mode

Viewer Editor provides the option to enter Debrief mode. Use debrief mode to review completed sessions and recordings.

Start a Debrief

To start a recording session in debrief mode:

  1. Navigate to Viewer Editor.

  2. In the menu bar, select the File tab.

  3. In the Mode ribbon, select Start Debrief.

  4. In the Select Recording Session dialog, select a recording to review, then select Add.

    Optionally filter the list to display only completed recordings, or recordings from all sessions.

  5. (Optional) If the recording contains a UDP stream, in the Select UDP Mapping dialog, select a UDP destination from the drop down menu. For more information, see Configuring UDP Destinations.

  6. (Optional) Apply a Scene to the Viewer Editor. See Scenes.

  7. (Optional) Save your current source arrangement as a Scene. See Create Scenes.

  8. Select the Play icon to begin the recording.

The timeline defaults to a Time Of Day synchronization setting. See Playback Synchronization for more information.

Result: Viewer Editor is in debrief mode, see the recordings on connected Viewers.

Add a Bookmark

Add bookmarks while debriefing a recording to make note of events or facilitate discussion during review at a later time.

To add a bookmark during debrief:

  1. In Viewer Editor, start a debrief. See Start a Debrief
  2. In Viewer Editor, press Add Bookmark.

Result: A placeholder bookmark is added to the recording, and is available to use or edit.

Edit a Bookmark

VADAAR provides the ability to edit bookmarks with additional information, such as a name and description.

To edit a bookmark:

  1. In the Bookmark list, select the Edit button next to the new bookmark.

  2. In the Edit Bookmark dialog, configure the following settings:

    SettingDescription
    NameEnter a name to identify the bookmark.
    Time(Optional) Update the time the bookmark is placed at. By default, this field displays the time of the recording the bookmark was added at.
    DescriptionAdd any notes or descriptions of the bookmark.
  3. Select Edit.

VADAAR provides options to navigate recording playback:

  • Use the playback controls at the bottom of the window to manage playback. All playback controls are available during debrief mode. See Playback Controls for more information.
  • Select the Eye icon next to a bookmark in the Bookmark list to jump to that designated time in the recording.

Manage Regions

Use Viewer Editor to manage the regions available in your debrief sessions. VADAAR provides the following options during debrief mode:

Change the SourceTo change which source plays in a specific region, select the Ellipsis button then choose Change Source. Select a new source from the dialog and press Add.
Mute a RegionTo mute a specific region, select the Ellipsis button then choose Mute.
Update Region PropertiesTo update a regions properties, select a region then configure options in the Region Properties ribbon at the top of Viewer Editor. For more information, see Regions .

Review UDP Streams

To review recorded UDP data, you must correctly configure the UDP destination to match the network you are using to play back a UDP recording. To edit the UDP destination of a UDP region:

  1. Select the Ellipsis button in the UDP region, then select UDP Destination.

  2. In the UDP Destination dialog, configure the following settings:

    IP AddressEnter the IP address of the destination.
    Port NumberEnter the port number to transmit UDP data on.
  3. Select Save.

End a Debrief

To stop a debrief, select Stop Debrief in the Mode ribbon at the top of Viewer Editor, under the File tab.
