Requirements
This page includes useful information on the supported Operating Systems as well as the hardware requirements that are needed to install and use VADAAR Viewer.
Operating Systems
Supported distributions are:
- Windows 10
- CentOS 7
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
Installation of VADAAR Viewer on any operating systems not listed above is not supported.
CPU
CPU requirements are dependent on the expected workload. Your exact needs may be more, depending on your workload. Your workload is influenced by factors such as - but not limited to - the following:
- How many Streams will be displayed.
- The resolution of the Streams.
- Whether variable speed playback is utilised.
The following is the recommended minimum CPU hardware guidance for 10 Active Streams at a resolution of 1080p:
- 8 cores is the recommended minimum number of cores and supports 10 streams @ 1080p 30fps
- 16 cores supports up to 20 active Streams or allows for more demanding workloads like 4k stream resolutions
Storage
Viewer only requires a few hundred MB of storage for installation and then requires no further storage.
Memory
Memory requirements are dependent on the expected workload. Your exact needs may be more, depending on your workload. Your workload is influenced by factors such as - but not limited to - the following:
- How many Streams will be displayed.
- The resolution of the Streams.
- Whether variable speed playback is utilised.
The following is the recommended minimum Memory hardware guidance for 10 Active Streams at a resolution of 1080p.
- 8 GB is the required minimum memory size and supports a few Streams that are being displayed.
- 16 GB should allow for typical workloads and about 10 Streams @ 1080p 30fps.
- 32 GB will allow for advanced workloads that involve large resolutions (4k), large numbers of streams or the use of variable speed playback.
GPU
Viewer will run on any modern GPU and uses very minimal processing. You will need to ensure that you have sufficient GPU Memory to display the number of streams and render them correctly. Generally a GPU with a minimum of 2 GB RAM should be sufficient.
